Green(ery) with Envy…

Earlier this year, Pantone released it’s annual Color of the Year. The color innovators over at Pantone picked Greenery to set the pace for trends in the year to come. This energetic and vibrant color brings new found zest to the furniture market. While I may be a bit biased because green just happens to be my favorite color, it’s easy to see why this color is popping up more and more in the world of design…

The color green symbolizes growth, harmony, and freshness. Psychologist say that green promotes optimism in people and falls into second place, behind blue, as most people’s favorite color. So, I guess in a busy and sometimes crazy world it’s only natural that we would see a resurgence of the many shades of green in furniture and design. Pantone’s choice of Greenery, to represent a new take on a classic color, is a perfect balance between green’s natural soothing aesthetic and bright vibrancy that pairs perfectly in today’s transitional market. When incorporating shades of green into your space make sure to compliment the tone of green with similar tones in other colors; deep fuchsias, lively yellows, and tranquil blues all play well with Greenery’s peaceful tone.

All the item shown above are great ways to incorporate Greenery into your home from some of our favorite in-store brands. So, if you are looking to freshen up your home with today’s latest look, stop by Old Colony and take advantage of our complimentary design services!
